One of my favourite bits of television so far this year, The Model Agency, a fly on the wall documentery about the models and staff of Premier, one of the leading UK modeling agencies. A facinating insight into the business of beautiful girls (and some boys).
The agency have made a run of tshits to raise money for charity "Teens Unite" and each t-shirt is signed by the stars of the show!!
Modelled by stars of the show, Models India and Leomie, and Premier founder Carole
Fred Perry's Mancunian Laurel shop has been re-furbished taking inspiration from the city’s industrial history, and plays host to the full Men’s and Women’s Laurel Wreath Collections, Collaborations and Blank Canvas ranges.
The shop also offers the exclusive Bespoke Shirt service. Enthusiasts are invited to create a Fred Perry
shirt from a selection of body, collar, cuff and laurel colours. One can then complete the look with the
addition of your own initials under the iconic Laurel Wreath.
Go visit it here if you find yourself in Manchester (I love that city, they go hard.)
Last Wednesday I was very easily persuaded to go out with @helenafleur my number one source of what is good and where to go in London (and beyond).
I made my way over to Dalston for the House of Hackney pop up shop launch. As we walk in to the buzzing (why it was buzzing will be revealed) shop floor we are greeted with walls of fantastically printed wallpaper. We head down the stairs to Lilly Vanilli’s, a the private members cake club!!!! there were mini pink glittery scones and jam, shortbread and apple and champagne doughnuts! The little bar at the end was serving Absolut Vanilla espresso martinis RE: the buzzing....... ( I had 5 and managed to claim 3 hours of sleep that night)
The House of Hackney Designs had a strong link with fashion and this was illustrated in the dresses, the girls were wearing at the event.... they also pulled in the work of Photographer David Duna and stylists Celestine Cooney and Kimi O'Neil on these:
“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
“"The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!”
“A women who doesn't wear perfume has no future.”
“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”
“Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress.”
