Celebration

Since going to see Madonna's A M A Z I N G performance at the O2 arena this summer, courtesy of my good friend Mr. Quinn Arthur, I have become a bit of a fan.

Madonna's Celebration video see's her wearing this pretty amazing studded mini dress by Balmain styled with some over the knee Louboutins.

Clueless

The shocking news that Brittany Murphy had passed away came to me through someone's facebook status update on my news feed just a few hours after it happened. She was so so cool, starring in 2 of my favorite movies, Spun and the groundbreaking Clueless, oh and she was pretty good in Girl, Interrupted too.

Here is some of her fashion finery from through the ages:

WTF? you may say.......

I Know I may not be that quick off the mark here but I couldn't quite believe what i was seeing......

This is a small child also known as Suri Cruise wearing high heels, she has been spotted wearing a couple of different styles. It may be seen as a little perverse, but I know that when I was her age I would have thought I was the coolest kid ever strutting about in a pair. I did not have this wardrobe option at my fingertips, as I recall I attempted to craft a pair of my very own high- heeled shoes from paper and sellotape- i am not joking......

Barbie gets Louboutins

This is the first doll of three to be adorned with the world famous Christain Louboutin shoes. The Doll comes with four pairs of red soled footwear, each with miniature shoe boxes and cloth bags. As much as the little girl inside me wants this doll, the full size me would rather the 4 pairs of shes a few sizes bigger.

Shiny (happy) people

These human shaped mirror balls had my magpie eyes drawn to them immediately.
Miu Miu have mirrored up their mannequins to compliment their super sparkly shoes and detailing on garments from their Resort 2010 collection. This season, a sporty feel including deep v-necks with injectins of big bold prints contrasting the subtle pastels of the colour pallette.

Shoes fit for a Dorothy.

I have a bit of a thing for red shoes, probably springing up from childhood memories of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I came across these beauties today as I perved through the window of Prada.

"you're so cool, you're so cool, you're so cool,"

We didn't pay the cable bill so when the projector is fired up each day, we have DVDs lighting up the wall instead. Whilst indulging in these showings, I've come across some amazing silverscreen styling of the nineties.

"My Powers of Ten"

Here are some pieces from my graduate collection......
I started my research by documenting the scars on my body and where, how and when I got them. I then found great inspiration from the film ‘Powers of Ten’ a 1977 short documentary film written and directed by Ray Eames and her husband, Charles Eames.

I represented the scale effect the film illustrates in the prints by layering imagery on top of each other. I used glow in the dark particles to create the effect of one image merging into another. The glow particles are near invisible in the light resulting in entirely different print in the dark.
